Our Story
Precious Possessions Preschool & Daycare began in 1997 with a simple but meaningful vision. Holly Ridley, a Whitfield County resident for over four decades and a mother of four, wanted to create a safe, loving, Christian environment where children could learn, grow, and be cared for while their parents were at work. She wanted families in her community to have a place where they could confidently leave their children each day knowing they were loved, protected, and surrounded by people who genuinely cared for them. Precious Possessions first opened its doors with just four classrooms. Over the years, Holly's passion for serving children and families allowed the center to continue growing alongside the Dalton community. What started as a small childcare center has now grown to more than 15 classrooms serving children through multiple stages of their early childhood years. In 2022, Joe West joined Precious Possessions as a partner and moved to Dalton with his wife and children. He wanted to be more involved in the community and help Precious Possessions continue growing while staying true to the values it was founded on. Together, Holly and Joe have worked to expand the center's ability to serve more children and families while maintaining the personal, family-centered environment that has always made Precious Possessions special. That growth continued in 2025 with the opening of a brand-new addition to the Precious Possessions campus. The expansion created more space for children to learn, play, and grow and marked an exciting new chapter in the story that began with only four classrooms nearly three decades ago. Through every season of growth, the heart behind Precious Possessions has remained the same: to provide exceptional childcare in a safe, nurturing, Christian environment and to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. Holly's faith in Jesus Christ has guided the center from the beginning, shaping a culture of servant leadership, grace, compassion, and love. Her dedication to children extends beyond the walls of the center, including her decision to foster a child from the daycare who needed a loving home.
